The title cards of the films created by the Disney Animation Studios during the era known as the #DisneyRenaissance. The era began with the release of ‘The Little Mermaid’ in 1989 and ended with ‘Tarzan’ in 1999 (not pictured). The list of Disney’s theatrical animated features, is referred to as ‘Disney Animated Canon’ and the movies of the Disney Renaissance are part of this list. The ‘Disney Animated Canon’ begins with Snow White in 1937 and continues to present-day. The most recent release is in the canon is ‘Winnie The Pooh’ (2011).
There are currently 51 releases in the Disney Animated Canon. In 2011 the ‘BFI IMAX’ cinema in London recently screened all 51 movies. If you didn’t get a chance to see any some are available on DVD. The pre-renassance era Disney animated features are kept in the Disney ‘vaults’ for some time and are periodically released DVD. However, the movies above are widely available so go get them and have a #90s Disney movie-night!
